Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, deems necessary to study the Issue concerning Increase of Minimum Social Standards more thoroughly

After the meeting with Ceyla Pazarbasioglu, Head of the IMF mission in Ukraine, V.Lytvyn answered the questions of the journalists concerning the status of the Bill on the increase of the minimum wage and minimum living wage. Thus, V.Lytvyn supported increasing the rate of a minimum living wage. However, he deems necessary to specify the Bill suggested by the Party of Regions.

According to V.Lytvyn, he suggests that the following clause be included into the final provisions of the Bill: "The Law comes into force the moment the Law on Amendments to the State Budget becomes effective". He also suggests that the Government bring forward the Bill on amendments envisaging the funds to cover the increase of the minimum wage and minimum living wage.

"If the law is rejected, then there will be no pretext for blocking the lectern. I planned to convene a working group in charge of the Bill today. However, there is no subject for a discussion, as a new law was not adopted", - added the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
